CODE OF CONDUCT
MCFC & NCMC Code of Conduct
The Code of Conduct applies to members while participating in MCFC and NCMC activities and events. MCFC and NCMC activities include but are not limited to rehearsals, concerts, transport to and from MCFC and NCMC activities, music camps, music festivals, workshops, meetings or any other activity relevant to or requisite for MCFC and NCMC musical events.
A code of conduct is in place to ensure the objectives of the MCFC and NCMC are met for the benefit of all
members. Upon acceptance of your membership with MCFC or NCMC, we expect musicians to comply with the Code of Conduct as set out below.
Safety and respecting others
Directors and members agree to:
follow all the safety and other instructions that the music directors give.
respect the rights of all members of the MCFC and NCMC community.
be polite and remember that I represent the members of MCFC or NCMC at all times.
respect instruments and equipment belonging to other musicians and to the MCFC or NCMC.
support and encourage other musicians to perform at their best.
Members will recognise that physical or verbal abuse or any other form of abuse is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.
Regular rehearsals
When preparing for performances, I agree to:
attend monthly rehearsals.
arrive at the appropriate time to help set up and be ready at start time.
advise the Music director or Assistant music director of my inability to attend as soon as possible.
be attentive and not to cause disruption (e.g. by talking or using mobile phones) during rehearsal,
so that all members of MCFC or NCMC can achieve their best.
listen to direction and take note of the sets and music we are practicing.
MCFC and NCMC encourages members to actively participate and share ideas with the Musical Director
about set choices and arrangements.
Performances
Performances are a cornerstone of the MCFC and NCMC operation. I agree to:
purchase an MCFC or NCMC Uniform polo shirt (at a cost of $25) and wear the correct concert attire for performances: Kilt/black pants and an MCFC or NCMC Polo shirt.
to practice required sets and prepare to perform without sheet music as much as possible.
make every endeavour to arrive at advised time for a performance.
to help with setting up and packing up, if asked to do so.
perform at my best and have fun!
